2006 23LSV Vdrive cooling outlet fitting - Will it rotate?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Boat:  2006 Wakesetter 23LSV with the 383 HH engine.

Is it possible to rotate the vdrive cooling fitting that goes from the vdrive to the raw water pump?  I replaced the OEM ball valve for the rear ballast tanks (both fill pumps are attached to a single ball valve with a tee fitting) on the port side of the boat and the new assembly is taller than the OEM assembly.  The cooling hose that runs between the vdrive and raw water pump used to run over the pumps.  Now, since the assembly is taller than the OEM assembly, the hose is too short to run over the pumps and attach to the Vdrive.  I could run the hose under the pumps but I would need to rotate the vdrive connector to a horizontal postion.  Is this possible?  The intake on the vdrive rotates easily, but the exit fitting does not rotate at all.  Should my intake side rotate easily?

Thanks for your reply JustGary.  Now that I know it should rotate, I'll get my red pumps and matching purse and give it a few whacks! :)  Thanks for your help.

UPDATE:

I was able to rotate the outlet to a horizontal position and route the cooling hose from the vdrive under the ballast pumps.   Now I'm going to add vented loops and plumb the rear tanks!  SWH

If the ballast pumps were red, you could have saved a step....
