no power to the fuel pump 2000 response

Recommended Posts

I bought a used 2000 response that ran when I bought it.  I replaced the interior and had it wrapped and then it wouldn't start.  It turns over with 13 volts to the starter but the fuel pump made no noise.  I took it out and tested it to an external battery and the fuel pump runs.  I checked the voltage to the fuel pump 1.5 volts with the key turned.  I can't find the fuse or the relay.  To the right of the dash has a fuse panel with breakers but nothing that says fuel pump.  There are some electrical squares and connections under a box at the rear of the engine but nothing is labeled. Any suggestions?

I had to replace the relay for my fuel pump on my 2003 LS1.  It was a Standard 5 prong relay and on my v-drive boat was near the rear of my engine (by the back seat).  This was one of 3 relays.

Good luck.

Check that the safety lanyard is on. Even better you can bypass it, as they are known to fail anyway. Just connect the two purple wires together with a wire nut and be done.

I had my relay and fuel pump go out at the same time.  my cousin (former owner) swapped out both with used parts.  Back up and running, but can't find the new relay anywhere. Any ideas?  1998 Sunsetter VLX

Isn't the relay a standard automotive one?
