Hot Shower Mod?

Does anyone happen to know the anatomy of the heat exchanger on a closed cooling system LS3?  My boat has the transom shower, but it just pumps out of a tank in the rear ski locker.  I’m looking for a hot shower to extend the season a little, so I’m wondering if I can suck warm water from the plugged ports on the bottom of the heat exchanger?  There is a port on each end, but I’m not even positive yet that they are raw water, or which end might be the warmest.  If it is warm raw water, I’ll run it into an AquaTik shower valve, then connect my shower head to that.

Thanks,

Shawn

I have often wondered the best way to hook up a shower.  I suspect that your end caps hold in coolant, not raw water.  I no longer have a crossover hose between my manifolds, but that seems like a great place to tap hot raw water.

You might be able to use a laser pyrometer ($25 at HomeDepot / Harbor Freight, etc.) to pinpoint the warm raw water that exits the heat exchanger.  Exhaust manifolds may be your best source.

You’re right, those plugs were holding coolant.
