How to reset Fault Codes

How do you clear/reset fault codes?

 

Boat has been sitting for a few months and had a nice day so I went for a ride. Everything runs fine, doesn’t run like there is a problem , just think there was an issue coming back to life after being shutoff for a few months.

Boat is stored on a charger. At first it was only showing 12.2V on the dash, like the alternator was offline, but cycling the battery switch and restarting I was getting good voltage on the dash, so don’t think the battery is low at all.

In the older boats (my 2012) you need to have the Diacom cable/software to clear them immediately.  After a period of time/number of restarts they may self clear.

The codes in the photo are inactive and do not need to be cleared.  Inactive codes can be cleared using Diacom and their CAN adaptor if you like.  Loose or corroded connections are the most common cause of voltage drop.  Check the connections on the batteries, battery switch, port side engine block ground, and power distribution post near the transmission mount.

I’ve cycled the power at least a dozen times, started/stopped the motor 8-10 times, disconnected the engine battery and cycled the main switch a bunch, but the inactive faults are still present.  
How much longer can I expect for them to display? I do have a warranty trip into the dealer coming up, so I know worse case they can clean them out, just curious..

I believe the engine needs to go through 3 full warm up to cool down cycles.

The inactive faults will continue to display on the dash touchscreen until they are cleared using Diacom.  It really doesn't need to be done at all, unless you feel it needs to for some reason.  Ask your dealer to clear the previously active (inactive) fault codes next time you take the boat in for repairs or service.

The newer boats also trac number of starts since the error occurred.  This can be helpful to know if it’s a new problem or old and not cleared.

I had a few old inactive codes and the dealer cleared them for me when I went in for annual service.  No way to do it myself.
