IDK, funny meme although I have never adjusted valves and have successfully mounted batteries by drilling screws thru my hull…

Hopefully you didn't drink the contents of the battery first.

UPDATE: So, it turns out one of the engine relays got fried...a $10 fix - remove and replace (not sure which one as I replaced all three for $35). Haven't taken it out for a test drive but it runs in the driveway with a fake-a-lake. Glad to learn it wasn't a costly (ECM) mistake.

Very happy about that however, the auto-blower on power up doesn't work. The blower itself works (I know because when I move the fuse to the stby position it kicks on). I'll have to research this unless anyone here can shed some light on it. Cheers!

This is kind of off topic. As far as ECM replacement on this series fuel injected engines if all pertinent data could be gleaned off an existing ECM, or just a known value, and transfer that to some aftermarket ECM that will work with the existing components on these engines ?

Gauges, etc, would be another phase of a project like this, but it has to be possible.

edit: In other words, it would be nice to be fluent in engine control and have the drivers to work with any injectors, alternators, relays, alarms, advance, retard, etc., but use the original Malibu settings as a template.
