Upgrading from Rockford Fosgate to Wet Sound

I recently bought a 2010 VLX Wakesetter and have found the Rockford audio system inconsistent with it's sound and operation. Anyone have thoughts on the idea of either trying to trouble shoot and then fixing what I have vs. upgrading to a newer Wet Sound system? And... If I do upgrade do I need to update the whole system (including speakers, etc.) or can I just get away with swapping out the receivers, amplifiers, etc. Appreciate any thoughts / advice I can get on this...

Let me preface this with I am no audiophile and did not and do not care about having the best system on the water. My ultimate goal has always been, happy wife, happy life while she is surfing. 😁 I had a 2010 LSV with the dual MB Quart tower speakers and same factory in boat set up as you. I replaced the RF in boats 1 for 1 due to UV degradation. The factory sub box was 1/2 the RF recommended size and literally busted open from poor construction. With the help of the crew a new enclosed sub box was built to spec and the RF M12 sub was reinstalled. The MB’s were replaced with one set of Rev-10s and a SYN amp. Everything run through the WS 420 which really woke up the in boat sound quality and was plenty of sound behind the boat.  Overall I went the cheapest route and was very happy with the results.

Good to know! I too am not interested in blowing up the lake with sound but rather just want it to work consistently! Thanks greatly for the recommendations!
