ANS ballast Decon question

For those of us that have to go through ANS Decon (I’m in Colorado), is it correct they flush the hot water to ballast tanks trough the “drain”  port through hull fit and not the “vent” fitting ? Last time I Decon they put the hose in the drain side but read something about pumps need to be reversible if this is done. The ranger never asked me if they were reversible or not ?  Just that’s how they do it.

Pumps seem fine but worried for next time if that’s wrong and Decon should go into the vent port.

I have my boat Deconned probably 6 times a year in Colorado (enough so that I know most of the staff at the Broadway HQ including Robert, who is in charge of the program).

They used to run the hot water through the vent outlets, but that changed I think last year.  Now they want to go through the intake ports through the hull.

Not sure what part of town you are in, but my experience is that it is much better to go to the Broadway office.  They are much more efficient and professional there than they are at any of the lakes.
