barefoot ski boom

Recommended Posts

I have a Malibu 22MXZ and I am looking for a barefoot ski boom.

What brand or model of would you guys recommend for someone who wants to learn how to barefoot ski.

Talk to your local dealer or call Barefoot International directly.  Others can chime in, I am not really sure you can put a boom on that boat.  You don't have a center pylon and the your tower is not tube, so no place to mount the clamp.  Maybe a gunnel mount style would work.  Not sure what kind of spray comes off the side on those beasts, but a boom might not work just for that reason alone.  Sorry can't be of more assistance.

Other things to possibly consider ... side spray and gunnel height?

Depending on the placement of the boom, the barefooting position may be compromised.

Also, the acceleration and top end speed (maintained) for a 22mxz would be a concern - how hard is the engine working to maintain 40 mph?

I had a quote from Smooth Water Sports for a boom for a 22VLX , it was around $2,500. Well thought out and had the bar in front of the tower and could rotate up when not in use. Peter was the fabricater I think located some where in New York
