Lake temp 127!?!?

2003 VLX, my lake temp sensor is either wildly inaccurate or global warming is getting serious. I’m positive our Central Oregon lake isn’t 127 degrees. We verified that it’s actually 62 right now with a buddies fish Finder. I’m guessing my reading error is an issue with corroded wiring in the bilge adding resistance.

Wondering if anybody has dealt with this issue? Not something I care a whole lot about but it bugs me to have things broken on my boat. The whole “broken windows policing” theory.

Thanks, I expect nothing short of brilliant ideas and solutions from this group. Here is a picture of said water at 127 degrees, doesn’t look that hot to me…F37FF51B-EB7B-4020-AB13-6FEE53E70D2B.thumb.jpeg.37d3b3951afb5a9685a3ffa863240231.jpeg

127 sounds suspiciously like the maximum value from an 8 bit analog to digital converter.  I would find the head unit where the temperature wire goes in and check it for correct power, ground, and other connections.

I will take a look at the lowrance module under the dash, my air temp and depth appear to be accurate though. I would think everything it looks at to be out of range if I have a power problem?
