2010wakesetter

Good afternoon! Recently bought a 2010 Malibu Wakesetter 23lsv. Recently while out when I shift the boat into gear it has a slight clunk when going into gear. No hesitation or struggle to go into gear. Also am leaking atf from the top of the transmission. Is the clunk going into gear a normal noise? And has anybody had a fluid leak from the top before? Thanks I’m advance.

On a 2010, because of the number of hours, it could be the shaft coupler bolts are loose and causing the clunk when putting it in gear. I did not have a clunk on my 2010, but each boat is going to be different.  It did have shaft couple bolt issue at 50 hours brand new on it. Could be a couple other more expensive things as well. I don’t think that era boat had issues with the flex plates, but there are more experienced folks on here who will be able to shed some light on that. A fluid leak from the top of the “transmission” as I recall might be indicative of that, but I could be wrong. I would check the shaft coupler bolts first and try to pinpoint the leak location for a better idea on how to proceed.
