No Wedge 25 LSV Surf Wake Setup?

We just got our 2016 back from the dealer and they said our wedge needs a new relay to work and Malibu is backordered.  So we are going to be on the water today trying to tune the surf wake without the wedge.  All I know to do is try to list toward the surf side using the ballast or whatever other weight we have in the boat.  So far that has produced a rather frothy wake.  Does anyone have any other suggestions to try to clean it up?

Thanks!

You shouldn’t need to list at all.  Make sure that you have the surf gate engaged for the side you want to surf on.  That will clean up the wake.  Load up your ballast as much as you can and go for it.  Wedge will generally make the wave bigger and can be used to change the shape of the wave, but you should be able to get a clean wave with the sufgate.

Simple, put more weight in the back.  And you do need to have the boat listing to the side of the wave as it does clean it up better.

Here's a pic of what we got with full ballast, we have the stock ballast plus factory 750 PNPs in the back.  We tried all full ballasts, and also reducing the right side and front both to 50% but that seemed about the same.  We only had the driver on the boat.  The wake is surfable, but I have seen much better on other boats:
