I too have a 94 Echelon and would like to replace the steering wheel.  My Computron is removed from the gauge cluster, thus I assume the buttons on my steering wheel are inop.  Once the wheel is removed, what will I encounter with regards to the wiring and such...is the their a spiral cable/clock spring or something similar? Also when you say it is a standard keyed hub are you saying that just about any aftermarket steering wheel will work - like automotive like a grant wheel?

The buttons are doing a signal transmit, so there is no wiring to deal with.  It's been a few years since I did the wheel on my '94, but I think mine was a Grant wheel and I needed some kind of adapter.
