I bought my first boat, a 99 wakesetter on Friday and got to take it out over the weekend for the first time. Boat did amazing, but unfortunately on the ride home the rear hatch/engine cover (sorry, not good with the exact terminology yet so I hope I’m describing this part right) flew off the boat on the highway and was ran over before I could retrieve it. Needless to say I’m extremely disappointed, I bought this boat because it was in amazing shape and the entire interior was just re covered last year.

i know I can find the vinyl to match but the problem is that the actual cover frame is mangled and broken and appears to be made from aluminum from what I can tell. I can’t find any info anywhere online about this part. I guess I should call the dealer and see if I can find it but is this something that is even produced? It’s an old boat and I’m guessing not a part people would usually need to replace although I can’t be the only person this has ever happened to. I thought about building my own frame from ply wood and having it covered professionally but would rather find an oem replacement or other solution before having to go that route.

Congratulations on the new boat.

The original part was made from an Aluminum Honeycomb Panel  you would need to cut it to fit and then have it covered.  You might be able to use a sheet of similar sized HDPE/Seaboard

plywood would be heavy and end up warping.
