Never understood the triple axel trailer. My 5th wheel is rated for 16,000 and still  rocks 2 8k axels and higher weight rated tires. Just seems like more maintenance, cost and headache than you gain. Maybe the cool factor?

Mostly because trailer manufacturers aren't using larger axles. I believe most are 4k with 5 lug wheels. And for everyone trying to tow their 9k boat with an underrated SUV it tracks a lot  better.

I totally did it because it looked better . And yes , it doesn’t turn as well backing up and I have two more tires to maintain. I went from an A24 on tandem to this and I would say it tracks better on the highway and doesn’t porpoise.
