New Dommed numbers look great

Just got my new registration from Dommed numbers via bu crew.  They match the zephyr blue really well IMO.  Anyone have any tips or tricks to install them perfectly on an m240?

There should have been a cover on them that was a little sticky - that should be on still.  On the boat using some masking tape, make a line that is level where you want the letters.  Then peal the back off of the letters, line up the letters with your tape line and press firmly all over the letters (including that top sheet.  Then just remove the top sheet and your masking tape line and you are done!

They have a nice how to video on their site too:  https://www.domednumbers.com/install

I use painters tape to align them to how I want and then use painters tape to mark on the hull where to line up the numbers to like @gahvey states. Sometimes you have to work with the curve of the hull and it isn't a perfectly straight line. Then make sure you are lining up the letters and not the tape over the letters because that is not always straight.

haha I just "eyeball it" (with the cover piece left on that @gahvey notes) and stick those suckers on (LOL prolly why you shouldn't break out your micrometer when looking at where the letters are on each side of the boat).

Mine came with quite a bit of "extra" cover and backing around the letters, which I cut down before doing the job.

Like @shawndoggy, I cut the cover and backing material. I was careful to keep the cuts square and identical, so the layout worked after the backing was removed.

In Montana, there are also permanent, and annual, registration stickers that have to be applied, so I waited until I had all three, so I could lay it all out together.

I then put double sided tape on the back of the stickers, and applied and adjusted, until it looked just right. The final result was somewhere between level, and following the slope of the rub rail.

I marked the position with dry erase marker, and then used the marks to align the stickers.

In retrospect, it may have been slightly better to do the positioning while the boat was on the water, but I seriously doubt anyone but me ever would have noticed.
