What would be the cause of my engine temperature dial gauge stuck at 210 degrees?

On my 2007 Malibu LSV 23, Anyone know what could be the cause of my engine temperature guage display always showing 120 degrees? It does not move up or down. My guess would be the temperature gauge is bad and maybe not reading the engine temperature sensor seeing that the display is stuck at 120 degrees? Does that seem reasonable?
