Monsoon 340 exhaust manifold

Recommended Posts

I just bought my first ski boat the other day. It is a 2004 Malibu Response LXI. I have not taken it to the water yet but I plan on taking it this weekend.

it had some epoxy putty on the exhaust manifolds that I didn’t like. So after some digging I found a few holes in decided it was time to fix it without spending a bunch of money.

New exhaust manifolds are about $1000 apiece so I figured why not. So after some bead blasting, grinding, and a little welding it’s done!

The original welded plugs may have been a different material so they could act as sacrificial anodes.  What material did you weld on?

Nice work, by the way.

Heat capable spray paint after repair? Or powder coat?

I used 5052 sheet and 4043 filler rod then covered it up with 500° engine enamel (rattle can)

I don’t have any good pictures yet. But if the weather is good this weekend I will.
