floating and using stereo?  My battery is only good for a couple of hours when floating and playing stereo.... just curious if there is something out there that can keep the battery from running down that fast.

That all depends on the actual current draw from your batteries.  Assume a maximum 1000 watts per square meter of panel on a clear day with the panels pointed directly at the sun.  You will not have that on a boat since you can't easily adjust the panels to point at the sun.

So, 500 watts per square meter is a reasonable estimate for a clear day.  Clouds will reduce the output to near zero.

Higher capacity of battery may help. If your batteries are not fully charged, then topping them up before heading out is recommended.
Loud stereos take lots of energy. If during your floating, you don’t need both tower and inside volume, then adding a switch to shut down one of the amps could increase listening time by fifty percent!
