Power wedge gauge not working

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to calibrate my wedge.  I have tried to do the calibration several times but the gauge is whack, says 3 o clock is basically a 45 degree pitch.  Never seems to really be the same ever time either which sure makes it a pain to dial the wave sometime.   Any advice would be awesome!

I fully reset mine by putting wedge all the way down, and then pull battery cables.  This resets the gauge down to "full".  Have to redo this each time I turn batteries off.
