Malibu flooring fading

Recommended Posts

We have a 2020 23 with 300 hours on it. I have noticed over the summer that the gator step type flooring is staring to fade really bad.  Our flooring has black lines running through it and some of those black lines have completely worn off. The birds are suppose to be black not faded to gray.

I have read some other posts that Malibu is using their own flooring and this has been a common problem. The boat is in my shop put away so can’t deal with it this year, but will be reaching out to my dealer next spring. Here is a crappy photo, but gives you an idea of the fading.  The gator step on my 23 LSV never faded and looked brand new the day I sold it.

Anyone else have this problem?

Probably Gatorstep, Seadek

FWIW anything left out uncovered in the sun will fade over time . Even in a short window if the conditions are right
