1998 malibu response closed Bow no tower

Hello everyone just wondering if I can get some help I think I might have a rare boat can’t seem to find a cover for it anywhere. Every website a check doesn’t have my configuration of what I have. I’ve got a 1998 Malibu response closed Bow no tower I also have the monsoon engine. Does anyone know if The sportster or any other model has the same specs as my response I’m trying to find a sunbrella boat cover that covers the platform I can’t find it anywhere the options from my boat spec are never available.

You don't really have a rare boat.  Closed bow response is a a great boat. 

 

As far as a cover is concerned, you're going to have some difficulty finding one.  You could order a custom cover, but I'm unaware of a large supplier of covers that will go over the swim platform.  Perhaps others may, but I do not.

I bought a Sunbrella cover for my Tantrum, there was the option of covering the swim platform or not.  Brand = Westland Industries.  I bought from GO2Marine.com  but you can source from a number of suppliers.  Fits perfect, going on 10 years and still is like new.

FYI - Sportster is a narrower beam, Response is 90", specs are available on this site.  Response / Echelon covers will fit.  I use a Sunsetter cover as that does allow the platform to be covered although I clip the sides down to the lower boat lift bar to make sure it does not blow off.  Would never use it while towing if that is a concern.  Engine configuration and open / closed bow makes no difference on cover choice.  Response was / is actually a very popular boat, it was IIRC the #1 tournament boat in sales for several years.

A good cover will make life easier for you and your boat. They are expensive but your boat deserves it.  Check with Ski Boat Covers, I have one of their covers with side skirts and used it when the boat was stored outside or indoors for long periods of time.  Check with Cory at Evolution Covers for a truly amazing travel cover.  I use his cover for trailering and with the boat stored indoors.

Right on thank you everyone for the help. I ended up buying a 1997 Malibu echelon cover and it fits my 98 Malibu response thank you everyone for your help.
