Engine Fault Bank B Sensor 1

rockbottom

Recommended Posts

2012 MXZ with a 66020 FMI:8 service code.  Owners manual says Bank B sensor 1.  Which side is bank B on the engine?  Is sensor 1 the first in the exhaust like the upstream sensor on a car?  Where can I buy the sensor?

Thanks

The bank 2 sensor 1 O2 sensor is on the even numbered cylinder side, port on a vdrive boat, pre catalyst in the exhaust manifold.  You should be able to get one from any Indmar dealer.

A quick way to diagnose the cause of the fault is to swap the port and starboard sensors and see if the fault code changes or remains the same.  If it changes to the other bank then the sensor would be suspect.  If the code does not change then the wiring, ecm, or other issues may be causing it.
