Fill ballast on dry land

Any ideas on how to fill a ballast on land to see if pumps are working correctly? I tried fake a lake but it did not pull water in. Built in ballasts are new for me.

Should be able to use a fake a lake. That’s how most guys winterize the pumps. I would ensure the seacock valves are open and that the pump actuates when you switch it on. You can do that by listening closely or by touching the pump. If it’s not drawing in water and the pump is running you’ll want to take the cartridge out and check for weeds clogging the intake hole.

Great. Thank you. I’ll try it again. The pump was running, it just wasn’t filling.  I was wondering if it needed to be below water line in order for it to work.

using a fake a lake will take longer than sitting in a body of water.

if it's the rears, you can screw one thread of a hose bib brass splitter’s output threads (or a single extension but splitters are easy to find)  into the rear ballast ports snd then attach hose to female end easily.  close one split valve snd open the one screwed into port.  zero leaking with even just one thread.

front and center are more difficult because of front bunk placement on my a20 relative to threaded holes
