Surf gate setting

Recommended Posts

I have a 2020 24MXZ… I’m confused about which surf gate setting makes a higher wave… 6 or 1? … 6 is closer to stow position on my gage

I assume you are probably referring to the wedge.

when fully deployed it will be in “Lift “, as you adjust it “up” to 1,2,3,4,5,6 you will be increasing the drag of the wedge in the water and pulling the transom down resulting in a steeper wave.

steepest =6

that’s not to say I recommend running the wedge at 6,

fully loaded on your boat I would estimate the best set up would be around 2-3 .

Thank you… seems best at 4 … going about 10.8 mph … my first wave boat and just wasn’t sure

Play with the speeds too.   I'd say most are running 11+ mph now in the larger boats (25LSV, 24MXZ, etc.).  That being said, find the wave that you like, but don't be afraid to dial up the speed as you are figuring it all out.
