1993 Profisher stalling problems

Recommended Posts

Hello all so here’s my story. I have a 93 Profisher 202 it has a 485 mercruiser in it and it runs great shifting good engine interruption switch is working so as I get on my way it will plane off and handle good but when I have to come down to idle speed it will stall then I start it back up and it will start without a problem go to put in gear and stall again. Now if I let it sit for a while maybe an hour it will start back up and I’ll be on my way again. Not sure what the heck is going on but I could use some advice to try and rectify this problem. Thanks

It is common for a worn lower shift cable or improperly adjusted shift bracket to cause the issue you described.  There are many other things that can cause the engine to stall, but since the cable wears and stretches over time and the adjustments have to be exact for the interrupt switch to work, I would focus on that.
