How to get the most out of ported subwoofers?

So I recently had a custom subwoofer box made and installed under the helm of my 23 LSV, and a preexisting one installed under the observers compartment. Both of which are for Wetsounds XXX12’s powered by syn dx 2.3’s. They are facing and ported facing the outside hull of the boat (facing port in the observers compartment and facing starboard under the helm). The box on the list is made by myself to wetsounds spec, aero port made with birch. The one I had fabbed for under the helm is made of a dense HDPE/Starboard material, and it a slot port. Both are very closely sized and tuned. Previously, I had the one xxx12 under the observers compartment ported facing the hull. It does not seem much louder by adding a second one symmetrically, and surely not twice as loud. Could it be because the boxes are made from different material? Could I get more sound out of them by porting them towards the transom?

So lets say the internal volumes of each enclosure is correct. What are the enclosures tuned to?

So STBD side woofer is under the helm, but behind the façade and loaded off the outside of the hull?

Didnt realize the high power handling woofer was the OEM woofer. I thought it was mid-level.

I know the port side (birch) box is 40hz, I’d like to say the right one is close to that if not exactly that

Maybe lookup the different recipes for that subwoofer(s).  I just learned for my subwoofers you can build different boxes for different power and sound.  SQ versus SPL versus Normal vented boxes.

Here is an example:

A good article to explain it:
