2005 VLX Monsoon 340

Recommended Posts

Hello all, my oil pressure gauge on my 2005 VLX indmar monsoon 340 isn’t working at all. I purchased a new oil indmar pressure sensor but it was the wrong one. Does anyone know the correct sensor I need to purchase?

You can use a diagnostic program like Rinda Diacom and a mechanical test gauge to confirm if the digital oil pressure sensor is working, or Bakes has an attachment on the page you linked to that would help you to use a volt meter to test the sensor.

You can test the helm gauge by using the dash display switch to select the lake temp, then hold the display switch down for 3 seconds to begin the gauge self test.  All segments of the display will light up and all gauge needles will sweep from left, to middle, to right twice during the test.

The 551379 SENSOR OIL PRESSURE DIGITAL is listed as being used on 5.7, 383, and 8.1 fuel injected engines and I have often seen it on 2006 and newer engines with the MEFI5 and MEFI6 ECM.  You would need to physically verify the sensor is used on your engine if it was built before 2006.
