Yes… but compounding and some elbow grease will get rid of most of it. Worst case you may need to wet sand. We did it last year on an 11 and couldn’t be happier with the results.

Heat gun.  I use my bare hands that way I get a reminder if it is getting a bit too hot.  Some will peel in a big strip, some come off in tiny pieces.
