Decal removal showing sun fading

If I remove all the decals from a yellow 2004 VLX will there be a noticable imprint left from sun fading over the years?

Yes… but compounding and some elbow grease will get rid of most of it. Worst case you may need to wet sand. We did it last year on an 11 and couldn’t be happier with the results.

Did it on my 06' and you can not tell.  Took a pile of work though, but the boat needed it anyway.

So what's the best way to remove them? Pressure washer, heat gun, brake cleaner??

Heat gun.  I use my bare hands that way I get a reminder if it is getting a bit too hot.  Some will peel in a big strip, some come off in tiny pieces.
