Screw Size for Rear Engine Divider Panel?

Recommended Posts

2004 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV

I noticed today that my engine compartment has two sets of dividers - the main forward dividers that are held in place with black knobs that turn to lock it in place, and then there are rear dividers that are held in place with screws (I think).  Mine are missing the screws.  There is a hole in the divider and a tapped hole in the boat for it to be attached, but I am missing the screws.  Can anyone tell me what size that screw might be?

Ha you're in luck I've been meaning on redoing dividers ... how they are attached.  1st of all I have a 2003 21' Sunscape LSV.  See attach as each of my rear small dividers have 2 (sheet) metal screws to be attached.  1" in length.  I'll try to get a threat pattern tomorrow as I'm going to a big box hardware store.

I'd love to get thumb screws for my forward and larger dividers.  The way they attach is the divider had velcro glued to the divider.  It then velcro to the engine frame that had a harder round plastic piece of velcro.  The center of this plastic velcro has a metal screw securing it to the engine frame.  Unfortunately the glued velcro on the divider gave way and fell off.

Wow, thank you!  Yeah if you could get a thread pattern and size that would be so amazing!!

The screws for the forward dividers are still on mine.  They weren't connected via Velcro like yours.  They are like a knob that turns and locks the panel in place against the engine compartment frame.

For your front panels is it a thumb screw or thumb nut/knob?  If it is a thumb screw you could "gently" try to screw it in the holes for your rear panels thus you'd have your screw size ... that is if they matched.  You certainly don't want to force it.

I take it you don't have box full of loose screws like me aka Mr. Pack Rat to do some testing?

It's a knob.  A piece of plastic that when you turn it 90 degrees it locks the panel in place against the frame of the engine compartment.

Unfortunately I don't.

To my aging eyes it looked like a number 10 screw and course threads.  I remember the screw head looked liked the screw heads that hold the hinges for the side rear latches.  You might unscrew one and use it as a test.
