PerfectPass, RPM sensor wire on a 2000 Sunsetter LXI

Recommended Posts

My buddy just upgraded to Stargazer 3-event on his 2000 Sunsetter LXI (from wakeboard edition) and we're just wondering where to connect the RPM sensor wire.

Is it best to connect directly to the back posts of the RPM gauge itself?

PerfectPass display, servo, gps unit, and master module are already in place.

IIRC, the RPM sensor wire should connect to the "grey" wire, but there isn't one hanging free under the dash.

So, I'm assuming it's best to pull the dash to expose the back part of the gauges, connect the RPM sensor to the RPM gauge posts, and then feed the other end of the wire down the hole to plug in to the master module.

Thanks!

The grey wire you’re searching for is behind the gauges. Take out the 8 or so small Allen head screws around the perimeter of the gauge cluster to get access. You should see it in there.

Didn't the RPM sensor wire already have a connection from the previous setup, or does wake edition of that vintage ONLY use paddlewheel?

He originally purchased stargazer wake-edition. No rpm sensor and used the gps for speed control only.

I just recently added zbox to my setup, which required a new master module. So I had a left over (older) 3 event module and gave it to him.

(Stargazer wake edition in "slalom mode" is horrible in the ski course)
