22 MXZ Acceleration Issue

Recommended Posts

For the past 3 or 4 times that I've taken to the lake I have noticed a weird Acceleration issue..

we only use the boat for wake surfing so I always put the throttle to 1 or 2 mph to prevent rope slacking,

then I go to 5 mph once I see the rider standing I go straight to 10mph..

a few times nothing would happen from neutral to 2mph so I would put it on neutral again and it would reset..

once or twice I went from neutral to 2 mph and nothing happened but then somehow the engine would engage and it would make a really loud sound, so of course I would put it back in neutral..

it felt like the clutch in a car when you accelerate a lot and then put it on first gear that the wheels spin.. I explained this to a friend that owns a Malibu and he said it could be the throttle but I just looked it up and its $1k.

What do you guys think is the problem here.. would this be covered under warranty?

i bought it used... and yes I did pay to transfer the warranty!!

about 260 hours!!

Then it should be covered under the warranty. Who covers it will depend on what the issue is.

Boat side, Malibu. Engine/transmission side, Indmar.
