Purchasing a 2011 LSV advise.

Recommended Posts

Found a very nice 2011 LSV for a good price.   Looks like my boat is going to its new owner tonight so I plan on picking the "new" one up this week.

Aside from the usual boat stuff (been a boat owner most of my life) is there anything about that particular model/year I should look out for?   The screen has already been replaced and the original still works and is there as backup.   No override for the start.  Has GSA, upgraded ballast and lead.   Spoke with the owner in depth and will be doing a lake/surf test of course and has service records.   No red flags have come up.

Thanks for any info.

The MTC screen and the override key would be the two areas of concern, but if you have a fresh screen it nullifies the other.  Aside from the voluntary hose re-plumb kit to help with engine cooling, the 2011's are solid.

Make sure the wedge is functional.  The lenco actuators have a tendency to quit, especially if the boat was left in the water.  Know this Malibu wedge problem and not so much a 2011 lsv problem.

Thanks!     Boat is trailered and stored indoor.
What is the re-plumb?     Interested in that info.

Heading up tomorrow with my piggy bank.   Was sad to see my boat hauled off but we just outgrew it and the wave.

supplemental cooling lines for the extcat manifold, better cooling for them and ultimately it allows you to list the boat and the high manifold still gets water flow

Here is one of the threads on it.  Search it and a few will come up with different views.  Overall, it makes a difference and is worth the 30-45 minutes of work.
