99 Response soft spot in floor.

Recommended Posts

I just noticed a soft spot in the floor??

About 1” in diameter. Right in front of observers seat, across from the pylon?

No wood in these boats, and it’s always stored inside or under cover. 2nd owner since 2009.

Anyone ever hear of something Ike this?

Here is what a couple of mine looked like after pulling carpet.  There were several of them outboard of each stringer along the length of the floor.

Thanks for the pics!
Is it anything to worry about?

Any easy fix? I could cut the story around and lay some fiberglass mat down?

No, if it is indeed those patches it's just a thin piece of fiberglass that's just to keep water out...mine weren't perfectly flat either.  Yeah, if it bugs you it's not hard to lay down some thicker fiberglass if you're OK with removing the carpet.

Did you transfer the warranty?  If so, Malibu will repair or replace hull and floor damage.  I wouldn't pester them for those places, but sometimes the sunken spots are much bigger.
