Seagull Deterrent?? Seagulls roosting on my tower!

Recommended Posts

I got a new 23 LSV at the beginning of this season. It’s amazing. I love it! But there is one issue that has cropped up and I’m hoping that others here have solved the problem

We’re on a lake and our dock is in a very shallow cove, so we keep the boat moored about 100 ft off-shore. It has the cover on whenever not in use and the Bimini top on the tower is always up. Over the last week, a flock of seagulls has apparently decided to make their home on top of our Bimini. It is disgusting. They just keep coming back after they are shoo’d away. They seem to like the boat as much as I do.

Have others had this problem? What have you done? Is there something that will relatively easily attach to the top of the tower to keep them away? Something that can be easily and quickly removed when we take the boat out?

Be glad they aren't pelicans.

You can make a bird deterrent with wire or fishing line.  Figure out a way to string it tightly a few inches above any place they like to sit.  They will trip on the wire and move on.
