Improving wake 2004 Sunscape

Greetings all!  New to the forum and have purchased a 2004 Malibu 21 LSV Sunscape with the monsoon motor.  I like the minimal wake for slalom but am having some difficulty when we switch over to surfing.  We have the fat sacks for the rear left and right compartments and have used the sack for the area mid hull.  I do have the triangular bow sack but have not used it yet.  The wake with the wedge down has quite a bit of white wash making letting go of the rope very difficult.  Do these wake shapers that suction to the side of the boat work well or is there anything else I can do to make the wake better?  I realize it won't be like the new surf boats but I think it can be better.

Thanks in advance!

Heyo.  I just took possession of an 05 21’ LSV last weekend.  I filled the 300# hard tank in the middle locker and the rear left hard tank which I think is 250#.  The rear right has a leak so I threw a 250# fat sack in that space, but it wasn’t fully filled.  Maybe 80%.  I also threw a 250# sack on the floor just under the windshield to lengthen the wake.  Put the wedge in down position and applied the Mission Delta 2.0 Wakeshaper to starboard side.  With six adults and six small kids the wake was great.  The shaper really helps clean up the washout from the opposite side.  At some point I’ll upgrade the ballast but I got a nice result throwing less than 1000# of water at it.  Good luck!

agreed, the shaper will make a big difference! See if you can barrow one from someone and try it out. I have tried different ones, we could not surf without it.

I call my wake shaper my $100,000 piece of plastic because I was ready to spend that on a new boat because I couldn’t make a good surf wave!  200$ later and my boat surfs awesome!  Buy one the difference is incredible.
