In the water vs. in the shop service

Recommended Posts

Hi all, new owner of a used 2016 VTX 20. Purchased from the New England Malibu dealer as a “consignment” sale. After 10 days in the water the power wedge won’t retract. Have tried multiple suggestions from the group to no avail. Originally the dealer said they would come and  and “in the water fix”, but now are stating that i need to take the boat out of the water, (we have a lake house) and transport it over an hour to their shop do do the work. Seems like an electronic problem, and that they just don’t want to come out to do the service call. Any insights as to why they might need to have the boat in their shop? Other than more efficient use of their time?  Thanks
