08 VLX SCREEN

I have on 08 VLX and my screen kinda stopped working. By "kinda" I mean when i turn the key on my guages start up but not the screen. I checked the connection and when i unplugged ans plugged back in it comes on. Not sure how long it will stay on cuz havent had it on the water this week. It does stay on until i kill the switch but does not come back on again til i unplug and plug back in. It does seem alittle dimmer than normal. Put new batteries in today. Any ideas? Yall think the screen is bad?
