Timing a 1997 monsoon engine

Recommended Posts

I know you had to have a jumper cable to disengage the computer to set the timing would like to know where to place the jumper cable on the distributor

The distributer timing shunt is only used on carbureted engines.  MEFI4 fuel injected engines are put into timing mode using diacom and a laptop, a tech mate unit, or jumping pins A and B on the diagnostic connector.

Although the above statement is true and accurate for MEFI 4 engines, the same goes for any marine EFI engine, like the monsoon.
