Add a kill switch to older model

I found out this weekend that all boats under 26' must have a kill switch now. I have an '89 Skier that has no switch at all.  I have looked around and found several products, but almost no information on wiring, etc.  I've seen lots of reviews that complain that the switches don't come with wiring diagrams. Most seem to be replacements for existing switches. Anyone have a recommendation for one designed for an inboard and a brief description as to how it's wired?

You sure you aren’t grandfathered in? If you are speaking of the new federal requirement I thought it was for those boats that were originally equipped. Also it is only required on federal waterways. I’m not saying down add one, it wouldn’t hurt to have one but I’d verify the exact requirements for you.

That is my interpretation of the law as well.  If you never had a switch, you don't need to use one.

Mandatory on 2021 from the mfg. If your boat has it, then you are suppose to clip it on, in Federal Waters. If it does not have it, you don't need to install one.

Thanks for the thoughts. Yes I originally thought that I was grandfathered in. I just read some things this weekend that said ALL Boats. I will do some more checking. Thanks everyone for replying!
