2004 wakesetter Oil pressure drops

Recommended Posts

Hey guys/gals this last weekend we hopped in the boat for a quick run and had the oil pressure alarm go off. At idle to 1500 rpm pressure is great but hit 2k rpm and the pressure drops all the way down until the alarm goes off. Never seen anything like it. Any input would be fantastic. I did notice the boat does have a sender and switch, could it possibly be one of those? Thanks in advance

I presume that you checked the oil level....  If the sender to the dash and the switch to the ECM both say you have low pressure, you probably have low pressure.

Typically it is only one of those that has failed, but since they both agree I think you undoubtedly have a pressure issue.

Plenty of oil in the motor

How much is plenty?  Is it reading full?  Also, somewhere around here there's a service bulletin from Indmar regarding adding an extra quart if you're surfing.  I'd go a bit over full and see if it continues.

Also, this may not apply but maybe someone can chime in...IIRC there was a batch of dipsticks for the 383 HH engines that were miscalibrated.  I'd make sure that isn't the case with your engine.
