Installing Bow Speakers

Recommended Posts

My 07 VLX currently does not have bow speakers and I want to throw a pair in there. I have already felt the vinyl and know the precuts are in place, so shouldnt be too difficult.

My question surrounds the factory wiring that will be up there. Are these wires connected/tapped from the other cabin speakers & will run off my deck (current 4 cabin run off deck)? Essentially just plugging the speakers in up in the bow?

Yes, I know that if its this way I need to solve for a power issue to my cabin speakers and will be looking to install a new amp soon enough (need one anyway because the way my current setup is). More so just trying to get the bow sound there to start and then rearrange my power supply next.

Adding a pair of speakers in parallel to a chnl of a head unit, will likely send it into protect mode. May find you need to wire the pair in series, or explore adding an amp to power all the speakers.
