Affordable sun protection

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

looking for some advice or guidance on affordable storage for the boat. Kept the old one in the garage however getting a new (to me) lsv that won’t fit.

I have room but funds are tight as I’m sure they are for anyone.

looking for any ideas to keep the sun off the boat and help mitigate some of the so cal heat.

thanks

What kind of options do you have in the driveway or yard or other space?  I have built more than a few carport-like structures but those options really depend on the space.  I like the suntuff poly stuff you can get at home depot for sun protection.

That’s actually not a bad idea.... just build my own.

small Metal carport kits are going for $1500 at least. I bet I could build one for that myself...

What’s the old saying? Go big to fit the boat, truck, 5th wheel and keep or don’t do it at all?

Looks great!  I really like the baby bouncer in the foreground.  Can't count how many projects I did with the kids strapped in and watching.  Now two of my kids jump at the opportunity to help.

That looks awesome.  A project you certainly won't regret!

Awesome!   That's going to work out great.

Yeah I hope so. I live at about 3000 feet in so cal and we get a random snow here and there. A little worried about that and the wind so I might need it up a little with some cross braces that the kit didn’t come with.
