Amazon, etc. should carry GM 5.7L center bolt valve cover screws.  Out of curiosity, what happened to your original ones?

I sprayed oil that a oil company wants to drill next to my boat.😉

I would sleep better if i replace the screws.

Yes, sorry, I meant the previous owner should have used spray oil to protect the engine and other metal parts.  Definitely replace the screws.

You can use a garden hose to wash your engine, then spray it with some light oil to protect it.  I usually crank the engine and let it warm up a little, then spray it (avoid the throttle body and alternator) with water, then immediately crank it again and let it warm to dry it quickly.  After it is dry, I spray everything except the belts and pulleys with oil (basically anything from WD-40 to P'wer B'laster).  I don't wash the engine often, but I do spray it with oil several times a year.  It is hard to get oil under the oil pan, but even that will rust through if you let it.

What part of Germany are you in?  I'll guess far north since you have salt water.

No, i live in bavaria, the boat is near Berlin where i was born. The preowner used it in Denmark on saltwater, but realize that a Malibu is the wrong boat for open sea and sold it with low hours. I got it very cheap and try to replace all parts which are damaged by saltwater. Last year i changed the rosty engine mounts, the hardest work i ever had.:Frustrated:
