Wakeshaper size make a difference

Hey everyone, i was wondering how much difference the size of the shaper makes a difference the buhl one i have is 9.5 x15 face size.  Its producing a good wave but it makes it almost impossible to turn the opposite direction and pulls real bad when driving, i know this is to be expected but i believe if i could get away with a smaller shaper it would be less pronounced

Went from a larger homemade surf gate to a Nauticurl.  Still playing with setup(probably never completely stop) but boat turns better & wave is great.  Still a challenge to turn into gate with wedge down when picking up rider but you can.  At surf speeds drives straight if goofy wave & slight pull if running a regular wave....Angle of gate has a lot to do with it also as does placement.......98 VLX so same hull as yours..
