Body stance/form once airborne?

Any tips or videos that could explain this?

Most the time when i get any air off the wake i end up letting upper body fall forward as the boat pulls the rope. Are you suppose to stand tall through the whole jump until landing?

Ive tried keeping tall through the air but then when i land i wash out and end up on my arse

I think you are not holding enough line tension.  The experience should feel like you are a weight on the bottom of a pendulum, and you feel tension across the wake.  Knees bent into the wake, PUSH the water by straightening your knees when you hit the wake (this creates pop), hang time (grab the board, stand up straight, this is all arbitrary), then bend your knees ready to land and you should feel the rope pulling you back towards the boat.  If you don't then you are not holding enough line tension, and perhaps when you jump you are not aiming away from the boat enough and creating slack.

What kind of line are you using?  For wakeboarding, I'd recommend a no stretch line.  With a poly line, the line stretches when you charge the wake and then contracts once the pressure is released.  This could be contributing to your issues.

Ive got a ronix no stretch rope, the pendulum part makes sense, i must be giving way at the top of the wake and buckling forward in the air.

Board should be about 45 degrees from the boat ,right? And i should also be leaning back 45 degrees from the water surface?

Not sure on those angles, it all just happens.  Ride across the wake a few times without locking your knees just to feel the pendulum effect.  Once you can duplicate that dynamic over and over, then start going for air.

Tried riding across the wake without locking the knees and that helped a lot to get the feeling.

Do you look where you want to land? I found I was trying to predict upcoming chop in the wake so was looking forward. So far wakeboarding is all a mental game for me lol

Yes, I do.  Once you get the feeling for it, you'll be able to stop thinking about it and go by muscle memory.

often if you take off with line loaded and arms extended you will get pulled forward.  Try loading the line with a solid edge into wake and have handle in tighter to your body on take off this should allow you to land in a more natural position with your arms extended at landing.

Also body will follow your head.  Run a little shorter line if needed to ensure you can jump wake to wake,  focus on keeping your head and eyes on horizon for your landing and not down at water.  It’s a good excercise.  Good luck

Handle to hip, handle to hip, handle to hip.....#1 rule in learning to wakeboard.  All your control comes from keeping the handle low and tight to lead hip..........

Hard to remember when you get airborne the first fewtimes and panic mid air lol.

Went out with a friend and he told me I looked really tight and tense riding into the wake heelside, started bending my knees more and I guess I launched to the moon and nose dived because I forgot what to do... Was so surprised by the pop I got.

Ended up getting a concussion :/ unfortunately. Looking into helmets now, I have a Bern snowboarding helmet but its a hardshell with hardfoam, seems like I would need a rubber shell and soft foam on the inside.

I think a few more tries I'll have it down... Heelside at least

Heck yeah, started landing more upright consistently this weekend, leading me to do my first couple wake to wake jumps. Stoked!
