Raw water pump or circulation pump

Recommended Posts

Standard 5.7L engine on a 02 Sunsetter LXI, bad bearing sound coming from the  circ pump or raw water pump. Assumed circ pump, since it has never been changed. Can the bearings sound bad with out water leaking out of the weep hole?

What is a good way to verify it the circ or raw water pump? I guess take off the raw water pump and run for a few seconds and see if sound still exists.

Thanks

Take the belt off, that'll eliminate the circ pump as the noise .  (Assuming you have a crank driven raw pump and not a belt driven one)

Yep, that would do it.
