Maiden Voyage 2021 23 LSV

We finally got our lift set up and everything ready for the season last week.  We put about 6 hours on the boat this weekend, and so far impressions are good.  I like a lot of the updates from my 2017 23LSV. 

The new software and helm layout is definitely an improvement.  I also like the new driver's seat over the 2017. 

We ordered stern turn and while it is definitely a help in docking it isn't as big a game changer as I had hoped.  It isn't as powerful as I expected, and the wind still easily overpowers it.  Hard to compete with such a large side profile against a stiff wind I guess. 

The new hinged seats are also nicer and make it easier to get into the storage areas. 

I am not a big fan of the cooler bag.  It is probably a more expensive item than the Igloo cooler in our last boat, but it was much easier to reach into the Igloo and grab a drink than to unzip the cooler bag and try to find what you are looking for.  Not a huge deal, but I will probably still use a hard side cooler under the seat. 

We ordered clamping racks, and they stick out much further than the bungee style racks.  So much so that we cannot enter the lift with the racks out, and definitely not with any boards in them.  I could go in and out of my lift with the smaller racks out, but not with these.  The clamping function isn't as strong as I had hoped either.  I find the boards will move around a bit unless you clamp each side, and then go back and try to pull the lever a bit more to get it to ratchet another notch or two. 

The new ballast pumps do fill and empty quickly, and the surf wake seemed slightly better than my 2017. 

I do like the new lights.  We ordered the dock and tower lights, and they do see to provide a good amount of light.  I don't think we will surf at night, but you probably could with these. 

The flip down swim step was also positively reviewed by the ladies in the boat who used it. 

All in all we are happy with the new boat.  If I were ordering again I am not sure I would spend the money for the stern turn and the clamping racks.   They are a big ticket option and maybe not as essential as I expected.   Hoping for a great summer.

Good news.  I'm happy to hear your trouble free.  

After being on several boats with clamping racks, I would not go back to the bungee style.  Personal preference perhaps, but as a habit, we always pull the racks in when entering our hoist, even with the old bungee style from our '17.

Love those colors!  Boat looks awesome, congrats.  Crossing my fingers on our LSV.  I have 10.5 hours on and changed the fluids, no issues with the boat so far.  Minor fix on the trailer but the dealer took care of it.  Do you have any interior pics?
