2001 Response Vortec intermittent high power

Recommended Posts

Taking the boat out to full throttle, it runs at about 25% less power, then suddenly kicks in with full power, back and forth a couple times, then solid full power.

Can anyone point me in a direction here?  Injectors?  Fuel filter? Ignition?  Ever run into this one before?

Thanks!

If I had to venture a wild guess, I'd look at the TPS (throttle position sensor) but @BlindSquirrel is right, if you haven't done it lately, I'd definitely do the basics first as he suggested.  All are relatively cheap, except the wires, but they wear out too.  Get these done first and make sure it's not something simple.

Somewhere here there is an epic thread where a LOT of time and money (and suggestions) were spent and in the end the culprit was spark plugs...
