2011 VLX Prop Help

Recommended Posts

New to me 2011 VLX came with a 14x15.5 prop on it and when I look at the wake makers prop database this seems way off. Top speed only seems to get to 26mph and I assume this has something to do with it. Is this a normal prop for this boat???

Seems a little big. My ‘11 VLX had an ACME 1235 prop. It was good for all around use.

I have a 2773 on my 2010 VLX and it’s great for surfing with 3,400lbs of ballast. Top end is around 38mph

What are you using the boat for and where?

Mix use but surfing and bouncing around the lake to sandbars mainly. I’m up in NH at lake winni, it’s 500 ft above sea level.

I see that wakemakers recommends the 2277 or 2247. The 2277 is a great prop. I have it on my ‘21 VLX after I bent the OJ1951 that came with the boat. I surf at like 2400 rpm and I haven’t gone WOT but it’ll go at least 30mph.

I have an 11 VLX and run a 2249.  Does awesome and pulls like a truck when surfing.  Hits around 2700 rpm when surfing with all bags and ballast full.  I also top out at about 42 mph but mostly stay under 25 99% of the time.
